The IMFIT Philosophy
Head Coach Ian MacLean of IMFIT.ca promotes the need for a more personalized, individualized approach to help each client re-shape their body, gain confidence, and succeed in their sport-specific activities, as well as in life. Challenging the group approach that seems to be gaining prevalence among coaching and training programs, Ian and IMFIT.ca offer a system based on an accurate and medically sound assessment of an individual's health and physiology, drive, passion, and does so with a focus on a client’s unique goals.
While working with a local, highly respected bike shop assisting countless individuals of all levels, shapes and sizes, purchase equipment with the intent get fit, be more active, and take part in the local racing scene for cyclists and triathletes – invaluable experience that has become the nucleus for the IMFIT.ca philosophy. It was during these years Ian began to see a common thread among many of his clients. they were joining established coaching and club programs, which supported large memberships and a wide range of ability levels. Many of these "newbies" were, out of necessity, being put into "cookie cutter" programs that did not assess their personal needs, gifts, or unique goals. In many cases, these initial ventures into sport resulted in frustration, setback, and ultimately in failure.
Ian believes that we can all succeed at whatever sport we choose; we might just need a little help along the way. IMFIT.ca is dedicated to guiding you in every step, no matter what the goal: weight loss, a sub-hour 40k TT, your first triathlon, or your 100th triathlon faster than your first. Every goal is important and with the proper testing, planning and follow up, you can achieve anything.
