Hi there, and thanks for dropping by. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Ian MacLean owner of the IMFIT Athletic Performance Studio.
I have a long and fun filled history in the worlds of cycling and triathlon. Over the last 15 years I've seen and done it all! I've been a retailer, a customer and a competitor. Over the past seven years I've taken all of that experience and combined it with professional certifications in CANFITPRO personal training, NCCP certified fitness coaching, V02 Metabolic Specialist certification and both FIST and Retul certification on accurate and dynamic bike fit. As a triathlon coach, cycling coach, running coach and bike fitter, this combination of knowledge and experience has allowed me to help hundreds of ordinary people achieve extraordinary results and surpass their individual fitness goals.
I've been involved in competitive cycling for more than 15 years, in mountain biking, road racing, and triathlon. My major personal accomplishments include three-time finisher of the 24 hours of Adrenalin in the tag team category. Third place, co-ed tag team of the 8hrs for Multiple Sclerosis. My endurance events were capped off with a 24hr/380km non stop, solo indoor trainer ride during the Gears 24hr Spinathon. I've been a group leader for the 2003 Great Lake, Great Ride - a 1000km trip around Lake Ontario completed in 5 days. I was also competitor in the 2002 National Road Championships in both the Time Trial and Road Race, and a regular on the Ontario Road Circuit in '02 and '03.
Now that I'm wearing the coaching hat my accomplishments have taken a back seat to the accomplishments of my clients. As a cycling coach I've helped clients drop weight, gain power, improve performance and reach countless podiums on the mountain bike and road circuits in Ontario and beyond. As a triathlon coach I've guided newbies and experienced athletes alike to stronger bikes, faster runs and consistent PR's and podium placings. Most recently I was able to help a client realize her dream of reaching the pinnacle of triathlon by qualifying for the Ironman World Championships in Kona.
As a coach I take great pride in the accomplishments of my athletes and am always willing to do whatever I can to get the most out of each coach/client relationship.
